DAILY MUSINGS 175 - What makes a man rise

There was a season in my life when I was truly down — not just tired, not just discouraged — but gutter down.

The kind of down where silence is loud.

Where doubt speaks more convincingly than hope.

Where even friends do not fully understand the weight you carry.

And yet… I refused to give up.

There are so many stories like this. We admire them when we read them. We applaud them when we hear them. We call them “inspiring.”

But when it is your own life — it doesn’t feel inspiring.

It feels exhausting.

So what makes a man rise?

It is not talent alone.

Not luck.

Not perfect timing.

It is something quieter.

It is the refusal to let your lowest chapter define your entire book.

It is choosing — sometimes hourly, sometimes daily — not to surrender your future to your present pain.

It is stubborn hope.

It is faith when logic says quit.

It is discipline when motivation has long disappeared.

It is remembering who you are — even when circumstances try to rename you.

Many people fall.

But not everyone refuses to stay there.

The difference is not the fall.

The difference is the decision.

And perhaps that is what success really is —

not the absence of failure,

but the persistence of faith.

This is my life.

And maybe… it is yours too.
